I chose this hotel thinking it was in Otaru itself, but it turned out to be a couple of train stops away, which was a bit inconvenient. While the hotel has a beautiful ambiance and is very clean, I found the mall connected to it doesn't open until 10 am, meaning I had to go outside to reach the train station during early hours. The staff was excellent and accommodating, but the extra commuting cost and time were drawbacks.

We had a wonderful three-night stay at the hotel, which served as a perfect base for exploring Otaru and its stunning surroundings. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed, particularly the deluxe ocean view upgrade we received. While the location was convenient, being connected to a shopping mall, it was slightly distant from the main attractions. We appreciated the prompt and helpful service from the staff, especially during an emergency with our child's health. However, the dining options closed early, making breakfast in the hotel a better choice for early risers.
